What each form is for

  • Bisglycinate / glycinate — magnesium bound to the amino acid glycine, which is calming in its own right. Well absorbed and gentle, it’s the default for sleep and relaxation. Full picture in magnesium glycinate.
  • Taurate — bound to taurine, concentrated in the heart and nervous system; chosen for cardiovascular and nervous-system calm. See magnesium taurate.
  • Lactate — well tolerated and easily absorbed; rarely the headline, useful for broadening a blend without upsetting the stomach.
